What's up, Rams fans? Hope everyone is doing well. Lots to talk about so let's get down to business.

Nick , I don't know if you have answered this question. Pittsburg has Mike Wallace tendered for a 1st rd pick.T The Rams have the # 6 pick. Could the Rams trade with Cinncy for the #17 & 21 picks & make Wallace an offer ? Then give Pittsburg the #17. The Rams would have #21 & Wallace.
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

I've answered this a bunch. And I'm just going to kill it now. The Rams are NOT getting Mike Wallace. Nothing against you, Eric, I'm just tired of the pie in the sky fantasies when it comes to him.

Nike just unveiled the new jerseys, while they are nice I was hoping for a bit more change, not just to our jersey, but around the league, are there going to be aternate jerseys unveiled at any time?
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

Like I said the past few weeks, teams will eventually have some changes in their uniforms but it won't be for a few more years. Right now, what you see is what you get.

nick,i would like to hear your take on an intresting article i read on nfl.com.it was about the valuation of slot cornerbacks and how specialised the position is,as of now teams dont hold the valuation of these guys that high,im talking about players that only play in the slot.with the league becomming pass first the importance of these players should be higher?the writer also mentioned that this type of player could see up to 35 snaps a game and the position should be held higher, rather than have an outside guy filling in.........your thoughts?
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

Are you referring to Greg Cosell's breakdown? If so, I did read it and I agree whole heartedly. The reason that teams don't place as much importance on linebackers anymore is because usually you only have one or two on the field. Corners and pass rushers are everything defensively. Having a guy that can cover in the slot is invaluable because many of the best receivers have the ability to work in there as well as on the outside.

when will the rams announce that they have signed Oshiomogho Atogwe, bring the Canadian back home, he was good for us, and after last season he will be cheap.

Hey Nick. What do the players think of the new jersey design? I was kind of hoping to see the blue and yellow or blue and white throwbacks to be adopted.
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

Feedback seems to be good so far. As I said, I think you could see some changes in a few years but nothing drastic is really happening with any uniforms right off the bat with the possible exception of Seattle.
  • steve, Sedona, AZ

    9:45 AM CT

Some draft gurus have Cleveland taking Ryan Tannehill at #4 and Bucs take Morris Claiborne at #5. Blackmon and Richardson are both playmakers, Richardson adds a dimension and could be a replacement for Stephen Jackson down the road. Who's the best pick? Thanks.
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

That would be a very tough scenario. I don't think it happens because I don't think there is any way Tampa passes on Richardson but I'd go Blackmon. I think Richardson is the better player but it's close enough you can bump Blackmon because of the need. I know that goes against the idea of taking the best player available but if it's close, I think you can make that exception.
  • Josh, Iowa

    9:47 AM CT

With Percy Harvin now needing shoulder surgery, what are the chances that the Vikings target Blackmon at 3?
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

Harvin will be fine, it's just a scope. That doesn't change their stance on Blackmon. That said, I had some conversations last week that led me to believe that of the three teams in front of the Rams, Minnesota is the most likely to take Blackmon, not Cleveland and not Tampa.

Nick: Any update on the Jericho Cotchery visit? He has had some productive seasons. What are your thoughts on possibly adding him to our cadre of receivers? THANKS!
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

I don't believe that visit has taken place yet. I think it's set for tomorrow. I do think he'd be a nice add. He's been a pretty good player and he knows this system.

When ar we signing Albert Haynesworth to plug the middle?
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

Sorry, little hiccup in the internet there. As I've said before, if the Rams signed Haynesworth, it would be after the draft.
  • Scott A. , Rochester NY

    10:01 AM CT

Nick, did the Rams have any input on uniform design and if they did why didn't they listen to the fans? Dull, drab and boring,They could have done so much better.
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

Like I just said, there wasn't going to be much change in the uniforms. No teams really had major changes. It will be revisited in a few years.
  • Ray, New Jersey

    10:02 AM CT

Nick What are your thoughts on LaMichael James in the 3rd, or perhaps Chris Rainey in the 4th? We can use a speedy, shifty big play RB to spell S-Jax every now and then and add a new wrinkle to this offense. We're desperately lacking some big play threats.
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

I am a big fan of James, I think he'd be a home run in the third if he lasts that long. Not so much on Rainey. He won't go that high and while he's fast, he's not as fast as some thought and he's got some off field concerns. He'd be OK in round 6 or later or so.

Is Ladanian Tomlinson or Terrel Owens a consideration as a veteran Rb or WR addition Owens would be awesome with blackmon
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

No chance on Owens. I don't think they'd go the Tomlinson route but he does know Schottenheimer and I suppose stranger things have happened.

    10:04 AM CT

Is there anything out there as far as WR to try to trade for? I know teams don't like to trade WR but for the right price.
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

Not much. Santana Moss could be a guy who comes available though I'd think Washington might just release him. Otherwise, a team like Green Bay with a surplus of WR's could be a match. But the problem is, teams don't want to part with top wideouts.
  • Jeff, lansing

    10:05 AM CT

Hi, nick. I love the "mailbag" I read every week. I have been a life time ram fan since LA and I am really excited about this season. My question is do you think we will trade one of our draft picks to move up to # 4 just for blackmon. If we do try to make that move, what do you think we will have to give the browns?
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

I think there's almost zero chance the Rams trade up in the draft.

    10:05 AM CT

Nick, Do you think the Rams are going OLB, RB in the second round? Thanks
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

I think those will be positions under consideration but I don't think they're dead set on those two by any means.

    10:05 AM CT

Hi Nick, Are the Rams done in free agency? Also what happen to Goldberg, it seemed that he was are go to O-linemen.
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

There could still be an addition or two in free agency, mainly depth guys. Don't think Goldberg will return.
  • Robert, Highlands Ranch, CO

    10:06 AM CT

Nick, If my understanding is correct new Head Coaches can now work a bit with their teams, albeit in very limited fashion. I've heard Fischer is doing so. If accurate, what's the turnout like with our guys?
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

Yes, the offseason conditioning program began yesterday. There's a great turnout here. Most of the guys were in the building yesterday including Bradford, Long and many others.
  • Robert, Highlands Ranch, CO

    10:07 AM CT

Hey Nick, I think I know what/who your answer is going to be but here it goes anyway... Enough of the "any of the top six guys" stuff. If you could pick just one, who are you really hoping will be there at #6 for us. If that person is not there, who would be #2?
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

Blackmon. I haven't avoided that question, I've just said I think it's important the Rams get one of those six. And Richardson would be next, just a notch ahead of Kalil.
  • Robert, Highlands Ranch, CO

    10:08 AM CT

Hey Nick, For those of us (like me) that don't know much about Dunbar what can you tell us about him?
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

He's not the biggest LB out there but he's not afraid of contact and he's been productive for the Saints. Some see him as an ascending young player who is just going to get better. He's only 27. I think he'll get a shot at one of the outside backer spots, most likely WIL and he'll certainly play special teams. He's a potential starter.
  • Will, Tallahassee

    10:10 AM CT

Been following your chats for a while now and you have been spot on in terms of some of your free agent predictions (Smith and Dunbar). Any take on what the team is thinking in terms of a back-up QB or any other POSSIBLE signings?
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

There's not a whole lot more left to do but I think ultimately the Rams will turn back to Kellen Clemens as backup QB. Jerricho Cotchery is supposed to visit this week as well. Otherwise, I've mentioned Haynesworth as a possibility for later on. There could be some depth guys brought in too.
  • Steve, Effingham, IL

    10:11 AM CT

Have there been any other FA signings since Dunbar. Did they sign a guard from the Jets?
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

Robert Turner, a guard. He'll provide depth and could compete for a roster spot. He's only 27 also.
  • Philip, Denmark

    10:12 AM CT

Hey Nick thank you for your time once again. What do you think Morris Clairbournes 4 out of 50 Wonderlic means to his draft status?
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

I don't think it means anything. Claiborne is a cover corner. If you tell him to guard the man in front of him, I have no doubts he can do it. Teams will be more concerned with his toughness and tackling ability than his Wonderlic score.
  • Xavi, TX

    10:12 AM CT

Hey Nick, what happened with Donnie Jones? Man, he was the best player on the team! I forget the name of the new punter we signed a while ago. Do you think he can replace jones with similar results?? Thanks!
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

Tom Malone is the punter that's signed here. I fully expect the Rams to use a late round pick on a punter. Believe it or not, this is considered to be a "good class" at punter this year.
  • Mike, Iowa

    10:13 AM CT

Hi Nick, If by chance Blackmon is gone by number 6, do you see any chance of the Rams trading down. Is it possible to trade down with either Cincy or NE for both of first round picks and grab a receiver there?
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

I think it's possible but I still kind of doubt it. It would depend on the package they could get back and how far they'd have to go to do it. Remember, if you move out of the top six, you are essentially moving out of range of the elite players in this class.
  • Tyler, Boise

    10:14 AM CT

Hey Nick! Wanted to try and get in a different kind of question for you. With the Rams second round pick if they had to choose between OLB Shea McClellin and RB Doug Martin aka "The Muscle Hamster" who do you think is a better pick and provides the most upside? (Had to find a way to show my Boise State Broncos some love!)
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

I like Martin better as a fit for the Rams but I'm not sure either would really be much of a factor for them at that point.

    10:15 AM CT

Maybe it's just me but if Blackmon is gone at 6 and we end up with Claiborn all is not lost we could use the 2 second round picks on WRs like the one from LSU.I hear alot of talk about moving up to get blackmon or moving down if he's not there.we will be alright if we stay with the 6th pick what do you think?
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

I'm a believer in staying in the top six, yes.
  • Cam, CA

    10:16 AM CT

Hey Nick two quick questions, firstly how sure are the Rams that Torrey Holt can't play anymore? It is really cool we get to see one of the all time great Rams retire a Ram. Secondly, if we do trade down from 6 what compensation do you think the Rams would ask for? A first this year and next with maybe a 2nd rounder this year? Having three first rounders in 2013 would be nice. Thanks Nick!
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

He's been done for a while now. Love Torry but his knees gave out on him a few years ago. Really happy he gets to come back and retire a Ram. No way to determine that because it would depend on how far down you are moving.
  • Russ, in Phoenix

    10:17 AM CT

Hey Nick! Well I see that Jo-Lonn Dunbar agreed to sign with the Rams. Where does he project on the Depth Chart? Is he a WILL or a SAM? How much impact will he have on the defense? . Thanks
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

My guess is he'll be at WIL but I don't know that for sure. He could play SAM too though he's a bit small for that spot.

Hey Nick! What's your take on Mizzou's WR Wes Kemp? Draftable or UDFA this year? Thanks!
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

I'd think UDFA. Really good blocker, good size, better speed than he gets credit for but I don't know that he can separate at NFL level and his lack of consistency in college is a question.
  • Mark, Wisconsin

    10:18 AM CT

I have to disagree with the rams stance on T.O., Although smith is younger, still he has had knee issues just like T.O., and T.O. was productive for the bengals..why not take a flyer on him. It seems as if his attitude has been in check for a while now, and that whole locker room distraction stuff has gone by the wayside...would be a good depth guy, and besides if for some reason it did not work out they could cut him....does not make sense to me why that is just out of the question for a team that was 2-14 last season.
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    Smith is 27. T.O. is what, 36?

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

To my knowledge, the Rams have about $4 million in cap space right now. Dunbar is a Ram.

Who are some Punters coming out the draft that we should keep an eye on? Also what round do you expect them to be taken, and how early are the rams willing draft a punter?
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

I don't think the Rams would take one before round 6. The best punters available are Georgia's Drew Butler and Cal's Bryan Anger. But here's a name to know: San Diego State's Brian Stahovich.

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    How do you mean?
  • Russ, in Phoenix

    10:22 AM CT

Hey Nick! Love working scenarios with you Nick! Okay, Rams select Blackmon in the first round. And the Rams are likely at this point to draft two WRs. How likely is that 2nd WR pick going to be in the 2nd round? 1st round: Blackmon 2nd round: Randall / Hill / Jeffrey / Quick . thanks Nick!
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

I think it's possible the Rams take another WR in round 2 though it might be with Washington's pick there not, the one at the top of the round. I don't think Jeffrey would be the guy. Some names I'd remember: Brian Quick, Chris Givens, AJ Jenkins.
  • Brian, Ithaca, NY

    A little of both.
  • Don Riley , New Jersey

    10:24 AM CT

I have to make a case for Fletcher Cox of Miss St. He was defensive player of the week five weeks in a row in the SEC. He pushes the pocket constantly, he pursues like a dynamo and he's an exceptional tackler. Most of the college d. Lineman are not even good tacklers. Cox is textbook. I think the guy is a top ten player for sure. Isn't it possible that all of these mock draft guys also guys like Charlie Casserly (who has a great resume) are all "wet (Casserly has him going 30th some people don't even have him in the first round". Basically saying that when it really comes down to draft day. The actual people making the selections will take players in the top five or six who aren't the players who are slated to go there ?. Cox is only 19 years old. I just can't believe people could watch Brookers and Poe and put them ahead of Fletcher Cox. I can't believe that.
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

I'm glad you mentioned him. He's going to be a strong riser in my next top 32. I've had some conversations with some people in the know in the past week that think he's the best DT in the draft. He's going to be right around 10th in my new rankings. I don't think the Rams would take Cox at 6 but if they moved into that 10-12 range, I absolutely think he's be a strong consideration.

Nick did Warner retire as a Ram. If he gets in the Hall what would go in as. I would hope he will go in as a Ram.
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

He did not retire as a Ram. He retired as a Cardinal because that's where he finished his career and he finished it strong. As for going into the Hall, the NFL isn't like baseball, players don't go in as a member of any team. They don't put helmets on the busts.

Hello Nick! Saw that Michael Brockers, DT LSU, was visiting soon. Would you be able to update on who is visiting Rams Park for Pre-Draft evaluations? . I am curious to see how much interest the Rams may have in South Dakota State's WR, Dale Moss after his 4.4 40's at 6'3"/213. Maybe worth a late round pick to see how much he can be coached up. . Thanks Nick!

You said this last week in response to a question about the starting O-line. - "That looks about right to me, barring trades. I'd say as we sit here today it'd be Saffold at LT, J. Smith or Ojinnaka at RT, Dahl at RG, Wells at C. Then you have a big question mark at LG filled by a big, nasty mauler to be named later." is it later enough to name that big nasty mauler?? also, I was extremely upset to read the nfl.coms needs for the west. He has the rams needing every position except for MLB thats just not true. I think we have some elite players at qb,de,mlb and rb and some other pretty good players that I wouldn't call 'NEEDS' I'd say our true needs are LT,WR,OLB and not necesarily in that order. DB needs some help but with mikal and now fennigan back there I don't see it as a full need but more of a want. (I'll still be happy with claiborne at 6 though) in your opinion what are the rams greatest position needs left this offseason. and who/where are the players to fill them?
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

No, I don't know who that big, nasty mauler is going to be for LG but I'd think he'd come in the draft. I think Wisconsin's Kevin Zeitler could be a consideration if he makes it to the Rams in round 2.
  • Doug Lawslo, Lake Havasu City, AZ

    10:28 AM CT

I understand what you're saying about Richardson and Blackmon. My concern with Richardson is that we have seen too many RB's taken high that fail to live up to the expectation and have careers close to players taken lower. Regarding Blackmon, though, nearly every analysis I've read about him talks about him being slow off the line, a long stride that affects his cutting, he's not a consistent blocker, and they almost all mention how effective he'd be in the slot. Hill is considered to be the best deep threat of the top three WRs. Blackmon is the best receiver, but aren't we looking for a deep threat? If Claiborne falls, should we take him? I've also seen a couple mocks with us taking Melvin Ingram; that can't happen, can it?
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

So you think the guy who has showed the ability to do nothing more than run 9 routes straight down the field and even only done that on a limited basis instead of the proven, dominant receiver makes more sense for the Rams? Sorry, no sale. The Rams need a No. 1 wideout who can do a little of everything. It's not just a deep threat. They need a guy who can catch it, break a tackle and go the distance. Blackmon can do a little of everything, he's clearly the best receiver in the draft. Hill has a ton of physical ability but is unproven and will take some work to live up to that potential. If Claiborne falls, he'd be a consideration. I think the Rams would take him but I do think they'd have some toughness concerns. I don't see Ingram making much sense.

If the Browns pass on Tannehill with the 4th pick, do you think that there is a market with teams like Buffalo or Kansas City to jump to the 6th or 7th spot to beat Miami to the punch? Would it be worthwhile for the Rams to drop to picks 10 or 11?
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

If the Rams draft someone other than Richardson in the first round it looks likely that at least one of Miller, Wilson or Martin would be available on day two. Which of the three, if any, would you see as being a great selection with the 33rd pick?

Nick, I think we have basically three options in the draft. 1. If Blackmon is there take him. 2. If he is not , trade down and get Floyd and pick up another second round pick. 3. No Blackmon and no Trade, select either Richardson or Claiborne and look for two WRs in the second round. Unfortunately the third option is the least desirable but probably the most likely. What do you think?
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

Nick, I think we should make an all out effort to sign Cotchery. He and Smith could be temporary fixes while we try to get some impact receivers. Especially if things dont go our way in the draft for a wideout. In any event, these two guys are better than what we had last year. What do you think?
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

Cotchery would be a nice addition, yes. Rams would still need to add someone in the draft. Keep an eye out for another potential WR that is expected to visit soon, also.

    10:42 AM CT

Hi Nick, I know u must be sick of draft questions by now lol. Well.... I think we should do like the Patriots and trade down for more picks. We just have too many spots to fill to be focused on the top 6 players. I see a lot of talent lower down on the list plus we have 2 first rounders next year and the year after. Weve been adressing the OL which is great but we need to continue to adress it because we r not done. Protecting Sam is the top priority, I believe with enough time to throw the ball he will make any WR's we have look good. Look at Tom Brady, he has 4ever to throw the ball, I think I even saw him texting during a play thats how much time he had. Most if not all of their WRs and TEs were drafted in the lower rounds. Great OLine makes or breaks Ofenses.
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

I understand the point of view that says there are this many holes and they need to be filled. But the Rams also need great, elite football players. If they are in position to get one of those, why would they pass? They have two second rounders and an early third. If you get four starters out of that, you are cooking with gas. If three of those guys are good players and the other one is elite, you really have something.

I hear rumors the Rams are interested in moving back up in the draft, possibly to the number 4 slot, currently held by the Browns. I have one question, Why? If they wanted the number 4 pick, why not make the trade with the Browns? They made a nice trade with Washington and they will get much needed help with the sixth pick, no matter who is there. They don't need to move up to get Blackmon, if that is what they are worried about. They need to stay put and take who drops to them. Everyone says Bradford needs weapons, but Bradford like any qb needs protection. The Rams had weapons (Llyod and Laurent Robinson) and they let them go as they didn't put up the huge numbers, even in garbage time.I know Robinson couldn't stay healthy but he showed potential. But if you let him go because of a lack of staying on the field, why sign a wr with a bum knee in Smith? The Rams have too many holes to fill to go after one need. They need to take the best player available and continue to build for the future. As much as I hate to say it, they should also look to move S-Jax as he will be over the hill sooner than later. I would like to see him go to a contender and have the playoff experience he deserves.

Hey Nick! I was fairly shocked when I saw the report of the Wonderlich test score by Claiborne. Not really the score itself because that test is soooo off-the-wall, but that the information was leaked out. Thought there was rules in place that didn't allow for the scores to go public? Your thoughts/comments?

nick , tell Jeff Fisher to pick up a copy of Lindys pro football draft mag. to get a better in sight on players he need to study. the Browns would be foolish to bye pass richardson for blackmon. and if they do RAMS can take a replacement for Steven Jackson now. trade him next year to a team he can win a ring with. the Rams should come out of this first four pick ( 6, 33, 39 ,65 ) with four starters. a building block for things to come in the future and take our lumps this year and do really damage next year with the picks and salary cap space.

Hey Nick I hear Jeff Fisher want to trade up. please pass this message to him and tell him don't panic. you will be getting one of the top six players. if the Browns take Blackmon you will have your choice of Clairborne or Richardson. Steven Jackson has not played a full season yet. go with either the best OLB and the best DT available with #33 and 39 ( you have already beat our last GM ha, ha)start aiming for next year where you can really do damage. you will not be able to get everything. p.s just get us either La michael james or chris rainey , joe adams with that third pick and with your coaching staff and the heart of this team we'll make our MARK in the next two years I promise.

Have the Rams looked into the chance of getting Mike Wallace? The Steelers have put a first round tender on Mike Wallace and the Rams have two picks at the beggining of the second round. Have the Rams thought about possible trading one of those picks and maybe a fourth to move up a few spots into the first round to sign Wallace? I think that is deffinetly something they should consider. And at the 6th pick, the Rams don't have to address WR's, they can focus on the O-line or D-line. I love Blackmon but if we can get Wallace with basically a second round pick and fill another hole with the sixth, that would be more beneficial. Do you agree?

Hi nIck, Hopefully Blackman will be there at 6 and we get him If not Richardson, if they are both gone, i am all for picking up more picks and moving down a little ways, Claiborne would give us a great starting combo at corner and nickle but given the opportunity to fill more holes i'd move down. NOt that this changes my view on Claiborne but how do you score a 4 on the wonderlic, i heard the questions start out easy then get harder as it goes, like to know his GPA though.
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

The questions on the Wonderlic are all pretty simple. The thing is they are just different in how much thought you have to put into figuring them out. Most of them are simple logic things like if I have 100 pounds of rock and I divide it in half and then divide it in half again, how much rock do I have? There's not much to it but they can try to trip you up. Either way, it has nothing to do with football. Let me put it to you like this: Let's say I was taking a 50-question test to become the Senior Writer for the Rams. That test had a lot of logic based stuff but none of it really had to do with an understand of the English language, reporting or writing in general. I scored a 15 on it. Would that mean I can't write or report my way out of a paper bag? I could take a 50-question test on the AP Style guide and score a 50. Isn't that a better gauge of how suited I am to do that job?

Follow up: How likely is it for the Rams to stay at #33? or sell to the highest bidder that wants an overrated QB?
    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

    Nick's Mailbag, Stlouisrams.com

Good question. I think it will depend on the situation. When the Rams had the first pick of the second round a couple years ago, they had NO interest in trading because they had Saffold sitting there and he was a late first rounder on their board. In other words, a terrific value at a premium position. Let's say there is another player like that for the Rams this year, I'd think they will stay put and draft him. If not, though, I definitely could see the Rams moving down, maybe picking up an additional third rounder or something else to do it. Ideally, there would be a team that might be looking to get ahead of let's say Cleveland to get someone like Brandon Weeden, and the Rams could use that pick to move down in round 2 and pick up another third or better for it while not losing out on a player they want anyway.
