  • NFL.com,

    NFL.com,

Hello everyone. Thanks for checking in to today's chat with Terrell Suggs. We're still waiting on Terrell to get things started, but it should just be a few more minutes. Thanks for checking in and sending all your questions. We'll get started here shortly...

Hey everyone! I'm very sorry about the delay, but I'm here and ready to go.
  • Eric , Seattle

    4:23 PM ET

How much has the loss of Rex Ryan, Bart Scott and Jim Leonard meant to your team?
    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

So far, not really that much. We knew we were going to lose a few guys. It just so happened it was Bart. We have personal relationships with those guys, that's really the toughest part. It does matter on the field, but we do have the same record.
  • tj, baltimore

How is the confidence in the locker room after two hard losses in a row. The fans of Baltimore still have the most faith that this team is very special and can accomplish greatness!
    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

We're still pretty high. We coudl be worse, we coudl be 0-5, we could be 2-3. We'll take the positives and roll with them!

what in your opinion is the biggest correction the ravens defense needs to make?
    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

I think we just need to get back to the basics. We just need to tighten up everywhere and play better football. Just get back to what we do best, which is our basic packages.

I am one the hugest Ravens fans i was wondering your opinion on the Ray Lewis Chad Ochocinco hit?
    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

From where I was from, it looked like a clean hit. IF it was helmet to helmet, they didn't want to miss it. But from where I was from, it looked he hit him with his shoulder. But they made the judgement call, and that's that.
  • Matthew Durham, Kingsville, MD

What's the biggest difference between a Greg Mattison defense and a Rex Ryan defense?
    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

I just think the whole mentality of it. Rex Ryan wants to see how many weird plays we can come up with, where coach Mattison is looking at different schemes and what we can do better to win -- putting in different situations to win. I would say we blitz about the same, you just can't tell the difference.

hey terell love the way you play, just wondering what it means and feels like to play with ray lerwis because just watching him on tv gets me fired up?
    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

It does the same for me joel! he's a great leader and a great player, and it's great to have a teammate like that.
  • Aaron, Maryland

    4:30 PM ET

Hey Terrell, how much would you love to sack Brett Favre on Sunday?
    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

That would be nothing, other than a win, that would please me more than to sack Favre!
  • Chad, Maple Grove, MN

    4:30 PM ET

What's your number 1 priority Sunday, stopping Adrian Peterson and the running game or Brett Farve and the Passing game?
    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

AP. If we stop the run, they can't win. Favre could throw for 1,000 yards on SUnday and it wouldn't matter to me. If they want to win, they have to run the ball.
  • Jon Hollingsworth, Columbia, SC

    4:31 PM ET

How do you plan to stop the most explosive running back in Adrian Peterson this weekend?
    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

    Tackle him. Just tackle him.
  • Mark M., South Dakota

    4:32 PM ET

How does having Matt Birk on the team specifically help your defense as you prepare for the Vikings?
    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

Definitely. Having a veteran guy on the line like that who is smart -- you know he went to Harvard -- that always helps. It's a positive for us to have that leadership. It doesn't help so much in terms of knowing the Vikings, because the schemes do change from year to year.
  • brandon barone, brea, CA

    4:33 PM ET

who is the best pass rusher in the league today, besides yourself.
    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

I like Dwight Freeney. I would say he's hands-down the best pass rusher. His counterpart, Robert Mathis, is pretty good. Jared Allen is one of the best. Kevin Williams, too. And Julius Peppers. He might not have big numbers to show for it, but he's there too. And Mario Williams.
  • Joey D, New York

    4:34 PM ET

YOOO SUGGS, Which player talks the most trash that you been up against?
    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

No one talks trash to us Joey! You'd be surprised. But who does the most? That's Bart Scott.
  • Joe , England

    4:35 PM ET

Hey Terrell, who's the best OT you've ever played against?
    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

Hi Joe. Besides Jonathan Ogden in practice, the old-school ones are William Roaf and Walter Jones. But new-school, I'll say the Dolphins' Jake Long. And Joe Thomas is pretty good, too. But Long is going to be the best LT in football.
  • Tim, Maine

    4:36 PM ET

How excited are you for the week 9 rematch against Cinci? Do you feel like there's a score to settle?
    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

Definitely Tim. They took one on our home field. We're looking forward to that rematch. But we're not looking at that now, right now we're focused on AP and the Vikings.
  • joey, canada

    4:37 PM ET

If you guys get another crack at the patriots in the playoffs, how much would that please you? Man you guys got jobbed on that one.
    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

Haha. That would be a good deal, but to get the opportunity to settle a score, that would be even better. But if we take care of business, then they can come to Baltimore. We'll see how that goes.
  • Micah, Baltimore

    4:38 PM ET

What's up! Suggs your post game interviews are impressive man! The fact that you can keep cool despite all the bad calls is really good for young people watching the sport. Is our home town of Baltimore still treating you guys right despite the losses?
    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

Oh yeah, they are. You guys are the best fans in the world, because you're die-hard Ravens fans. Everyone has an opinion of why we lost those two games, but come Sunday, all you guys will be back in Purple & Black!!!
  • Allen, Detroit, MI

    4:40 PM ET

What's goin on Terrell? I want to know your opinion on who's the toughest back to tackle.
    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

There isn't one, I haven't seen one!! Ok, MJD is pretty tough, he's little and powerful. But Ray Rice -- he's already shown to everyone he's pretty tough to tackle.
  • aj, new york

    4:41 PM ET

Hey Terrell, big fan. How would you describe the maturation of Joe Flacco and what it means to the defense to finally have an offense that you can rely on to score some points?
    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

It means a lot AJ. Just think, in my seven years in the league, there was only one other year we scored a lot of points on offense. McNair was here in 2006-07, and we went 13-3 that year. Besides that year, the things they're doing this year is amazing. It makes me wonder what heights we could have reached in previous seasons. But now we're only getting better.
  • Joe, Nc

    4:43 PM ET

sizzle dont you think the pass rush up the middle has to get better?
    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

Hi Joe. I think the pass rush all around has to get a little bit better. I have to do a better job, and everyone has to do a better job. We've put an emphasis on stopping the run, and now we have to do better on the rush.
  • Jimmy, Tampa

    4:44 PM ET

Hey Terrell. Everybody knows about Ray Lewis' pregame rituals. What kind of things do you do to get loose before game time?
    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

Nothing really. I'm in the locker room, and beforehand playing with my kids. All the preparation is done beforehand. I don't do anything special, just show up and play.
  • Aneal, NY

    4:45 PM ET

Showing you some love from NY Terrell. What can you say about the performance/job by rookie OT Michael Oher?
    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

I think he's done a bang-up job. I didnt' know he was as good as he was. In the first preseason game he was smashing people, and I couldn't believe it. He's a beast. What's surprising is that he's so young. It's his first year. He's only going to get better.
  • Fez, Newport, KY

    4:46 PM ET

Hey Terrell do dual-threat defensive players like you prefer to be in a three-point stance on the line, or rush from a linebacker's position?
    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

I don't really have a prevference, I can do either. It really depends on the QB and the OT I'm facing -- what their strengths and weaknesses are. I'll just go with what I think gives me the biggest advantage.
  • Azim, MD

    4:48 PM ET

Were u a vikings fan growing up?
    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

Definitely. I'm a big fan of the Tony Dungy defense, guys like Jack Del Rio, Johnny Randle, and those guys.
  • Jimmy, Tampa

    4:49 PM ET

There's been alot of surprises so far this season, from the Broncos' start to Mark Sanchez playing so well for the Jets. What or who has suprised you most so far, if anything?
    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

That's a good question. No one really, in particular. If it's one thing, it's the Broncos. The whole ordeal with the QB and then them being 5-0. That's pretty huge.
  • Josh, LA, Cali

    4:50 PM ET

T-Sizzle, if you got the chance to sack one Quarterback, past or present, who would it be?
    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

Hey Josh. It would be John Elway ... or Randall Cunningham.
  • Jay, Atlanta

    4:50 PM ET

Hello Mr.Suggs I just want to know: What is it about the "Wild Cat" offense that makes it so hard to defend?
    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

Because there's so many options on what they can do. The QB can run the dive, hand off or go off-tackle. They can run anything. It's all in one play. He already has the ball, and he can do those three thigns, and while you're waiting to read what he can do, you're getting blocked at the same time. We've always had success, and I don't know why. When we played Miami, we smashed on them.
  • Fred, Sweden

    4:53 PM ET

Mr. Suggs. Love the way you play the game. Who´s your favorite player to watch in the game today and why?
    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

Hi Fred. Beyond my own teammates, I like watching my boy Bart Scott on the Jets. I'm definitely watching him. I'll just stick with him. Offensively, i don't like watching those guys do well!
  • Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens

    Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens
