What's up, NFL Nation?! I think we had an exciting slate of games today and I can't wait to field your questions... Let's get started..
  • Kyle, Canada

Is Jairus Byrd the leading candidate for Defensive Rookie of the Year?
    Bucky_brooks_09_shs

    Bucky Brooks, NFL.com

Kyle Jairus Byrd is undoubtedly the front runner of the Defensive Rookie of the Year award based on his performance over the past four weeks. He has recorded seven interceptions on the season, and his three games with two interceptions is a phenomenal feat. there are some other rookies playing well, but his big play ability sets him apart from the rest.

After the Broncos' first loss to the Ravens', despite being 6-1, does this Denver team still look like one of the stronger teams in the NFL, or does this loss to the Ravens prove they aren't what their record shows.
    Bucky_brooks_09_shs

    Bucky Brooks, NFL.com

Steven, I think that it is too early to tell whether the Broncos' loss today reveals anything. I believe their defense is legit, and their offense has been solid to this point. Remember, the Ravens are not a bad football team and beating them in M&T Park is not an easy chore. I think next week's match up against the Steelers will let us know if the Broncos have the potential to become a title contender.

What do you think of Chris Johnson, Vince Young and the rest of Titans season?
    Bucky_brooks_09_shs

    Bucky Brooks, NFL.com

Connor, The Titans looked good today. They got back to the winning formula that worked for them a season ago. They ran the ball well, threw it selectively and relied on their defense to come up with key turnovers. I think VY gave the offense a boost with his athleticism and his versatility gives their running game an added dimension. If they stick to their formula, I believe the Titans can finish the season with a respectable record.

First Jacksonville and Miami almost beat the Colts. Now the 49ers do that. What is wrong with the Colts offense?
    Bucky_brooks_09_shs

    Bucky Brooks, NFL.com

Andrea, I don't think that there is anything wrong with the Colts' offense, but it is not as explosive as it has been in the past. The loss of Marvin Harrison and Anthony Gonzalez has forced the team to use a ball control offense. Though it isn't flashy, it has worked well with the Colts' D picking up the slack.
  • Brian , Virginia

    7:17 PM ET

You think Ryan Moats stole Slaton job today?
    Bucky_brooks_09_shs

    Bucky Brooks, NFL.com

Brian, I don't think Moats stole Slaton's job, but I do believe that he has earned a bigger role in their offense. His ability to get tough yards between the tackles will help the Texans grind it out against elite teams down the stretch. I believe the team needs both runners to make contributions, but Moats should definitely have a significant role in the future.
  • Leonel S., Miami, FL

    7:19 PM ET

Good evening Bucky! After Ginn's performance tonight, do you think the critics might quiet down a bit?! I'm impatient like all the Dolphins fans, but I knew this kid would step his game up soon.
    Bucky_brooks_09_shs

    Bucky Brooks, NFL.com

Leonel, I think Ginn's performance was glimpse of the immense potential that he possesses as a receiver/returner. He is a dynamic playmaker who may never be a classic No.1 receiver, but will impact the game as a complementary weapon. At Ohio State, he played as a vertical receiver and I think that the Dolphins would be wise to use him in that role as opposed to making him an intermediate route runner. If they allow him to play to his strengths, he will eventually become a solid weapon for them.
  • Ryan D., La Verkin, Utah

    7:23 PM ET

BB! how would you grade Alex Smith's performance against the Colt's D?
    Bucky_brooks_09_shs

    Bucky Brooks, NFL.com

Ryan, I thought Alex Smith was solid today. He looked comfortable and decisive in the pocket, and delivered the ball on time. In addition, he spread the ball around to multiple receivers and kept the Colts from loading up on the running game. If he can continue to play well, the 49ers will eventually become one of the better teams in the league by season's end.
  • CHUCK, Jacksonville, FL

    7:27 PM ET

Bucky - Were you impressed by Vince Young's performance against the Jaguars today?
    Bucky_brooks_09_shs

    Bucky Brooks, NFL.com

Chuck, VY played very well today. I think that he played to his strengths and didn't try to prove to everyone that he was a pocket passer. In the past, I thought that his desire to prove his doubters wrong affected his game and forced him to play a style that wasn't geared to his talents. Additionally, I think the Titans put him in a position to be successful. They ran the ball well and called a few play-action passes that complemented the run action. When it comes together like it did today, I think that you see the potential of the Titans' offense.

Hi Bucky, What do you think of the Giants now.. With their three game losing streak and Eli has turning the ball over many times and the Giants defence doesn't look too good. Do you think they can make it to playoffs this year?
    Bucky_brooks_09_shs

    Bucky Brooks, NFL.com

Andrew, I think the Giants are struggling right now, but they have as much talent as any team in the league. They need to rediscover their winning formula, which is pounding the rock and playing good defense. Unfortunately, they aren't playing well on defense and that is forcing them to play at a different pace than they are comfortable.

sup BB give some love to that panthers D, 6 turnovers....revenge for last time!
    Bucky_brooks_09_shs

    Bucky Brooks, NFL.com

Mark, The Panthers played really well on both sides of the ball. Their defense limited the Cards' big play opportunities, and they were able to get pressure on the passer with only four rushers. When they are able to generate a consistent rush upfront, it makes it so much easier for their secondary to stay over the top and make plays. Offensively, they ran the ball effectively and the success of the ground attack took pressure off Jake Delhomme. This is the way that the Panthers have to play if they are going win games against top teams.

what do you think of the Cowboys after these three weeks and their playoff chances?
    Bucky_brooks_09_shs

    Bucky Brooks, NFL.com

Antwan, The Cowboys are quietly coming together. They are playing well on both sides of the ball and getting key contributions from their return game. I'm not ready to proclaim them title contenders, but I do believe they are a dangerous team with the potential to make a deep run in the post-season.

What's up Bucky! What was more important to the Vikings today: The amazing Percy Harvin's returns or Brett Favre's performance?
    Bucky_brooks_09_shs

    Bucky Brooks, NFL.com

Mauro, Percy Harvin's returns were very important to their win today. He routinely set the Vikings up in good field position, and that makes the world of difference in a tight game. Brett Favre was outstanding, but I think the Vikings winning the field position battle was a key to the game.

What is wrong with the Charger's running game?
    Bucky_brooks_09_shs

    Bucky Brooks, NFL.com

Mitch, The Chargers' O-Line is not getting a tremendous push at the point of attack. Without a surge upfront, LT and Darren Sproles are not finding big holes between the tackles. They have shown signs of improvement at times, but the Chargers need to be more consistent to get their running game back on track.

What does buffalo need to do to start winning
    Bucky_brooks_09_shs

    Bucky Brooks, NFL.com

Kelvin, The Bills are so close to winning games, but their offense needs to avoid the costly turnovers and score points when they have prime opportunities. The D is playing well, but they are dominant enough to win games without the assistance of the offense.
