Thanks for doing the piece on scoring defense. I was thrilled when I saw my email up on the screen. You are a man of your word, thank you:) I will record the show and keep it forever. My next request is to find out what the NFL record is for scoring defense. The info I have so far from a local reporter is: The Seahawks of 1998 who had 10 TD's scored by the defense. I have not verfied this as fact. I have been told the NFL has never kept an exclusive record for scoring defense. The stat is kept with the TD's scored by the special teams. Do you have a team of research guys to separate this stat? Maybe we can create a new stat to be recorded by the NFL. I am chomping at the bit to know. The Saints already have 7 defensive scores. Your thoughts?
    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

You are very welcome and thank you for watching the show. We had a lot of fun doing it and wanted to make sure we gave you all the credit. I will have to get back to you on the record as I don't have those stats in front ofme.

Its time to find out what is going on in your league
  • fletcher burton, new orleans, la

    2:00 PM ET

do you think that Chris McAlister will fit in with greg williams defense playbook and do a good job replacing a very good tracy porter?
    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

Yes because he is healthy. they need healthy bodies and he is in great shape. I played golf with him 2 weeks ago and he looked great. But that was golf wasn't it. He should be fine
  • Bex, Brooklyn

    2:01 PM ET

Sterling, thanks for chatting with us. With or without Cedric Benson, will the Bengals have any trouble with the Raiders? Tell me straight why the Bengals have been so good this season?
    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

Yes because the raiders have players with pride and they don't want to get embarassed. I think the bengals will win but it won't be a walk over
  • dave, york,pa

    2:02 PM ET

Hey Sterling , Colts are overdue for their first loss, can you see the Ravens being to team to upset them?
    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

I don't agree with overdue for a loss but I don't think the ravens can confuse or put enough pressure on Peyton and that colt offense. How about the performance of reggie wayne, he is very underappreciated.
  • JW, C/S, CO

    2:03 PM ET

I am a big Phillip Rivers fan and I don't think he gets the kudos he deserves. How do you think he ranks among the AFC QBs and NFL QBS in general ?
    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

A few miles behind brady and manning. he is a fine player and good leader. he just needs to win more to get the ultra credit he deserves. I feel the same way you do he is most under rated
  • Primo, Santa Monica, CA

    2:04 PM ET

What do you see in the Monday night matchup between the Titans and Texans? It seems like the whole Titans team has responded to VY at QB ...
    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

I see the best back in football in chris johnson have a really good day. He leads the nfl in rushing and yards after contact. i see vince playing better now that he is finding his comfort zone. I am picking the titans to win.
  • jmark, north bay

    2:06 PM ET

Can Denver get things turned around? Does the big onion (your brother) have any ideas to help his old team out?
    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

Shannon doesn't play defense. Thats what Denver needs to do esp. against the run. 125,173 174 last 3 games all losses. Its simple they stop the run they win games.
  • Jim, Texas

    2:07 PM ET

    Giants or Falcons?
    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

I am going with the giants. I like the fact that the bye week allowed them to work on the redzone on both sides of the ball. Last in redzone defense and 28 in redzone offense. Fix that and get back to winning games.
  • George, Northern California

    2:08 PM ET

Hello Sterling, what do you think of Favre as a MVP canidate? Also as a wide receiver what do you think od Sidney Rice? Thanks, George
    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

I like them both. I think sidney is have a great year because he has a qb that can and will get him the ball. Confidence is a large part to becoming a great player and brett has built Sidney's up very high. I would vote for Chris Johnson of Tenn if I had a vote and I had to give it today.
  • Felipe, TJ, Mexico

    2:10 PM ET

Sterling Is it a walk on the park on sunday vs KC for the Steelers?
    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

No it is not. Kc is playing better and I am not sure which steelers team will show up. Pitt has allowed 3 kickoff returns for td and that needs to change. I think pitt wins but it will be a good game. Close.
  • Toyia, Philly

    2:11 PM ET

Sterling ... I like the Eagles on the road against the Bears ... are you wtih me? Tell me what you see in this game -- I'm not even sure Andy Reid needs to call a single run play. I can see Mcnabb and Co. shredding the Bears defense.
    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

Yes I do. The only reason i like the eagles is Jay Cutler. He has thrown 17 int, he leads the league in that stat but He has thrown 11 in prime time games on Tv. Its like he is trying to show the rest of the league thats watching him he has a big arm and can throw it anywhere. Thats why I like the eagles. Its a prime time game.
  • Herb, Atlanta

    2:13 PM ET

#2 The Great! Last year opposing defenses talked about how predictable the Cowboys were down the stretch. I've seen them fade offensively (under Garrett) over the last two season. Should I be worried again after only running the ball 11 times against GB last Sunday? How much of it has been Romo and how much has been Garrett?
    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

Don't jump yet. The packers played lights out on last sunday and I think the cowboys settle down and get back to what they need to do from here on.
  • Tom, Connecticut

    2:15 PM ET

Sterling I can see your former team, The Pack, getting upset by the 49ers this week. But I can also see the Pack winning this game. Do yout think it will be close like I do?
    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

Pack have a 6 game win streak vs 49ers. Who ever wins this will not be an upset. I like the packers if they get after alex smith like they did Tony Romo
  • Ed, Sandersville, GA

    2:15 PM ET

Sterling, What's going on with the Detroit Lions? Calvin is becoming Lionized and Stafford looks like he might be a bust. What can they do?
    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

Show some patience. I was a player like calvin on a bad team when I got to Green bay. We started to get better players that forced all of us to be accountable and go the extra mile. We turned it around I think calvin and matt will do the same
  • Chris, Milwaukee, Wisconsin

    2:17 PM ET

Do you think it bothers Adrian Peterson to have the attention suddenly shifted to Brett Favre this season?
    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

Not at all. He is still getting his touches and he doesn't have to answer as many questions after the game.
  • Ralph Maccio, No clue.

    2:17 PM ET

Yo Sterling, we're talking about making a new Karate Kid movie. Of course i'll be starring as lead. Any chance you'll sign on to be the new bad guy?

    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

    Hell yes. Sign me up
  • John, Twin Cities, MN

    2:18 PM ET

Hi Sterling, Aaron Kampman looks lost in the new 3-4 defensive scheme of the Packers. How can they utilize him in a more productive fashion?
    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

Trade him. Look how the defense looked last week without him. 5 sacks and 3 turnovers
  • Matt, MN

  • Travis, Virginia

    2:19 PM ET

Hey Sterling! Will Dallas dominate Sunday or can we expect a close one?
    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

It should be close but I expect the cowboys to win.
  • Steven, upstate SC

    2:19 PM ET

Hey Sterling... Think the Gamecocks have a chance next weekend in the big game? =o)
    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

They always have a chance. They seem to lack the belief that they are as good as any one they play. I want them to come to be almost cocky. They are in every game and good football teams find a way to win the close games esp at home. Go Cocks
  • matt, orlando

    2:21 PM ET

what do you think of the 4th and 2 call by belicheck
    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

Love the call one of the 2 best players in our league with the ball in his hands to keep it from the other best players in our league iin peyton manning. I love the call.
  • Jeff, Illinois

    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

At 7-2 with the raiders on the horizon, Hell yes.
  • Barry, Mississippi

    2:23 PM ET

What do you think is going on with Roy Williams? Although he had a decent game last week. Is it something between him and Romo?
    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

No he is not as quick as he needs to be to play big dividens. He doesn't catch enough balls that hit him in the hands. He is a good complement but not a go to guy. I like sam hurd and pat crayton with miles austin. speed kills

    2:27 PM ET

What do you think of the move in buffalo to fire there Head Coach??
    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

It was going to happen and they the bills wanted it sooner than later. Coach Jauron was with me in green bay so I feel a little sad today. But with that said it is a bottom line business and he knows you got to win to stay in.
  • Mauro , Fortaleza , Brazil

    2:28 PM ET

Do you think that if Steven Jackson had a chance in another team , he would be considerated the best back in the NFL? In my opinion , he's the most complete RB in the league.
    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

I hope he stays in Slt. He is a great player and the rams gave him a chance to fulfill his dream as an nfl player. I think he is a top 3 back in the game. Chris johnson is complete also
  • Ed, Sandersville, GA

    2:30 PM ET

Sterling, do you think the Lions Defense would do better as a 3-4 or should they stay a 4-3? and why is the defense so bad now?
    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

No, the players need to just man up and say that we are not losing anymore. Pride needs to step in
  • Denzel, Hollywood

    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

Is Brett Favre overrated? He's anything but to me. Your thoughts?
    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

Over hyped is a better choice of words. Remember the vikings won the division with out brett and made the playoffs. He makes them better and for that he was a great pick up.

    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

I'm a Raider fan( insert joke here) do you think that the Russell can turn it around with help on his mech. or is it too late and is there a Q.B. contervise brewing in Oakland tks. for your time.
    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

He needs a vet qb that he can trust to tell him the truth and Russell needs to work harder in the off season. His footwork and deliveries need serious help and he needs to work on those. He can be a very good player in our league.
  • ryan, houston

What do I have to do to get a question answered on here? I have submitted several. Anyways, why is the media so down on the Colts? They are having a great year with a new coach and a lot of injuries. Peyton, Dwight, Reggie and Robert are all having an awesome year.
    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

    Sterling Sharpe, NFL.com

Because, if I could speak for all of them. The colts do the same thing every year, great reg season and fold in the playoffs. Remember your history. You also need to be a little nicer you could get more of your questions answered. We love what the colts do every year and it makes our jobs easier because there are so many angles to talk about this team.
