Hello, again! Trust your summer is going well, and that you all had a fun, and safe 4th! -
Austin, Florida
1:03 PM ET
Which team do you believe will be most improved for 2010?
Charles Davis, NFL Network
Austin, There are a few teams that have that potential...and each will have to define "improved." Playoff improved? The Dolphins have a great shot at getting back in with their draft and the addition of Brandon Marshall. And the 49ers continue to makeover the team in the image of their HC, and that's a very good thing. Alex Smith...the pressure is on. Just improved? The Raiders have had an excellent off season, beginning with the draft, and acquiring Jason Campbell. -

I am really excited about Jonathan Dwyer being drafted by the Steelers, but it seems like no one is really talking about it. What do you think that Dwyer brings to the Steelers that we are missing?
Charles Davis, NFL Network
DJ, It remains to be seen. I liked his production in college, and his college coaches are very high on him. If he shows that he has a burst, he can really complement Rashard Mendenhall. One thing that he has shown has been the ability, and eagerness to "eat carries." High volume guy at GT -

Which rookie wideout do you think will have the most impact this year? I wouldn't be surprised if it's one of the kids in Tampa...
Charles Davis, NFL Network
Nathan, Rejus Benn and Mike Williams have the potential to break out as rookies, and help the Bucs improve. IF Dez Bryant lives up to his potential, he may have Super Bowl impact in Dallas -
Deutscher Fussball-bund, Deutschland
1:10 PM ET
Charles, What gives? I can't believe you picked Spain to beat us on last night's NFL Total Access. Please explain yourself!
Charles Davis, NFL Network
Deutscher Fussball-bund, As someone who is an observer of "The Beautiful Game," and by no means an expert, I went with pre tourney favorite. No disrespect intended. I was a huge Beckenbauer fan as a kid when he played in the NASL, and hoping Jurgen Klinsman takes over the US National Team. I still see Spain in the finals...sorry! -
Chesh$$$, WV
1:12 PM ET
How good a pair do you think Trent Williams and Jamal Brown will be this year for the Skins?
Charles Davis, NFL Network
Chesh$$$, Love the pairing, but it will be interesting to see who actually settles in at RT. Williams played it a lot in college, but I see him more on the left side. Washington may want to play the experienced guy on the left side first and that's Brown. Really don't see any down side to having them in the lineup, however they start. -
Spencer, SLC, Utah
1:14 PM ET
Charles, do you think that Knowshon Moreno is poised for a breakout year given his solid rookie season and an improved offensive line in Denver?
Charles Davis, NFL Network
Spencer, All he has to do is stay healthy. I think he's a complete RB. -
Brian Grey, VA
1:15 PM ET
Hey Charles, loved what you had to say about Dustin Keller during the "Best in the Biz" segment. SO, my question is this: Where exactly do you think the Jets will end this season? Top of the AFC mountain? Higher? Lower? Thanks a lot.
Charles Davis, NFL Network
Brian, Thanks...DK is a pumped up WR that's hard to handle. LOVE watching the Jets play...fun...do believe they will be challenged in a big way by NE and Miami...AFC East should be one long brawl...Hard to pick against the Jets because of Rex's defense. -
Jordan K., Columbus, OH
1:16 PM ET
Charles, love your stuff. It seems like there are a lot of promising, young quaterbacks in the league right now. Which one would you want to build your future around? I would take Stafford.
Charles Davis, NFL Network
Jordan, Matt Stafford is one to build around indeed. For me, I take Matt Ryan and build toward a Super Bowl, but I agree with you...plenty of young arms with talent -
Brandon, Halifax, Canada
1:18 PM ET
Hi Charles, With the defensive upgrades, the developement of the offensive talent, and the addition of Jason Campbell, are my Raiders poised to climb out of the basement? It's been so long.... Don't lie to me, Charles!
Charles Davis, NFL Network
Brandon, I see the Raiders challenging for 8 wins this season. Will that help you? -
anthony, p pines
1:18 PM ET
Desean Jackson... What are your thoughts on him?
Charles Davis, NFL Network
Anthony, Love him because he's so dynamic, and I can get so many things from him as a WR or KR. He changes field position, gains additional snaps with 3rd down catches, and forces defenses to roll coverages to him. He's definitely a WOW guy -
Niklas, Sweden
1:20 PM ET
Hey! I have a question about the Big Blue in NY. How do you feel that the Giants defense looks with the addition of Coach Fewell and Antrel Rolle? And do you think that the D-Line (Mostly the ends) can produce more this year then they did last?
Charles Davis, NFL Network
Niklas, I like what the Big Blue has done in the off season. Coach Fewell is proven, and the addition of Kenny Phillips and Aaron Ross of the injured list help immensely. An overlooked signing was safety Deon Grant from Seattle. The D-Line will definitely produce more than last year as the injury bug can't strike that hard again, can it? -
Quenten, Dallas
1:22 PM ET
Do you think JaMarcus Russel will ever find a new NFL home?
Charles Davis, NFL Network
Quenten, Not unless he takes care of his legal issues, drops about 40 pounds, and shows a true willingness to work. -
Chad (not hanging), Miami, FL
1:23 PM ET
Thanks Charles. Does Henne have the skill sets to be an elite QB in this league?
Charles Davis, NFL Network
Chad (not hanging), I was skeptical of Chad Henne coming out of college, but he's got me in his corner now. He can make all the throws, has a confident demeanor that his team buys into, and is tough, physically and mentally. So, yes, I believe he has what it takes. -
Chris , Canada
1:25 PM ET
Do you believe Bradford has the pedigree to be as good as Peyton Manning? I have heard these comparisons and think highly of your opinion......what do you think?
Charles Davis, NFL Network
Chris, Tough comparison. Bradford has the skill set, and talents, but Peyton Manning is truly special. Let's give Sam B. a chance to get acclimated before putting that on him. Too early, not fair to him. -
Justin, Kansas City, MO
1:26 PM ET
Charles Davis you're one of my favorites on NFL.com. Everyone is talking about Oakland being a surprise team? I see the Chiefs flying completely under the radar this year. What your opinion on the Chiefs this year? and can Eric Berry be a pro bowler his rookie season? Thanks!
Charles Davis, NFL Network
Justin, Love your confidence in KC! Still need to figure out, and solify where everyone will play on the OL, like the RB's in Charles and Jones, love the addition of McCluster, but the WR's have a ways to go. Defensively, they still have not found a home for Dorsey, and the DB's...Eric Berry will play early, and will push to be a Pro Bowler as a rookie. He's that good. -
E from the D, DETROIT BABY!
1:29 PM ET
whats up Charles, being a former DB i got to ask. If you had to pick a receiver NOT to line up against who would it be? A. Johnson, C. Johnson, or Larry F. Thanks!
Charles Davis, NFL Network
E, I would choose to not line up against any of them! But, since I have to pick one...Andre Johnson. -
Lawrence, Fresno.California
1:30 PM ET
Hey Charles which nfc team that didnt make the playoffs last year has a chance to make it this year and why?
Charles Davis, NFL Network
Lawrence, The 49ers. Love the addition of the 2 OL's from the draft (Iupati and Davis), Alex Smith appears to be on track to manage a run first offense, a full season from Crabtree (and Josh Morgan can play, too), Vernon Davis is a man child at TE. Defensively, Franklin must be signed, but Willis is the best in the business, and the secondary is underrated at safety...Goldson is a player, and Taylor Mays is looking to prove evaluators wrong. I like the make up of this team, and they will really battle Arizona in the West. -
Wesley, San Antonio
1:33 PM ET
DO THE TEXANS FINALLY MAKE THE PLAYOFFS THIS YEAR?!!!!!!
Charles Davis, NFL Network
Wesley, Yes! Second in the division to the Colts, and into the playoffs. Happy? -
Kieran, Chicago
1:33 PM ET
Atlanta's receiving corps underachieved last year, with the exception of Roddy White. Do you see Harry Douglas being a key factor in the Falcons attempt for a more explosive passing attack?
Charles Davis, NFL Network
Kieran, If Harry Douglas is fully recovered from his knee injury he can be a huge factor. What will really make them explosive in the passing game is Michael Turner playing 16 games. Then play action, deep passes are back in the game plan. -
Dennis, Santa Fe,N.M.
1:35 PM ET
So your pick to win the AFC East was who?
Charles Davis, NFL Network
Dennis, The Jets, but barely. -
Jon Coble, Gladstone, MI
1:35 PM ET
Hey Charles. What's your take on Green Bay this year? I know they're not a favorite to win this year but I feel they have a good shot. People seem to overlook how close the games between Minnesota actually were last year (especially the 2nd meeting). Top 3 quarterback, 2nd year in the 3-4 defense and a "hopefully" improved O-line. Sorry to ramble; your thoughts?
Charles Davis, NFL Network
Jon, The Packers believe this is their year. If they keep Aaron Rodgers upright, they believe they are better than Minnesota. I think they have all the right pieces in place, and the Vikings have to show their secondary is up to the task. It's a two team race in the NFC North, I believe. -
Kim, Boston
1:37 PM ET
Davis, you're breaking my heart with the Jets prediction. Gil already discounted the Pats and now you are too. My two favorite NFL guys and you are both down on NE. Depressing.
Charles Davis, NFL Network
Kim, It's summertime...no need to be depressed at all. Besides, do you really believe Gil and I bat 1.000 with our predictions? Gil's a lot closer to that number than me, but still. BTW...did you not read that I believe the East could be extremely close all year with NE/MIA/NYJ? It's summertime, and the living is easy...enjoy! -
Anthony, Florida
1:39 PM ET
Charles, Why is it that trouble follows Michael Vick? I don't see McNabb, Brady, Favre, or Manning being involved in dog fighting or having gun shots at their birthday party. Also, who would invite 300 people to a birthday party at 10:00 p.m. when they are on probation? That is asking for trouble.
Charles Davis, NFL Network
Anthony, Can't speak for Mr. Vick, but in his own words recently the birthday party "never should have happened." Hopefully, he can have a very quiet rest of the summer and season (off the field). -
Dante, San Diego
1:41 PM ET
Have the Chargers done enough this off season (excluding the drama from Jackson, McNeill and Merriman) to build a Super Bowl winning team?
Charles Davis, NFL Network
Dante, Yes. This is still a Super Bowl waiting to happen team. Like their moves on the DL, especially. The AFC West is still San Diego and chase -
Parker, Haymarket, VA
1:43 PM ET
Charles, who's gonna have the number one pick in next years draft?
Charles Davis, NFL Network
Parker, If Jake Locker stays healthy (University of Washington QB), look for him to be on the short list. -
lewis, flint , michigan
1:43 PM ET
If Best is the real deal in Motown, does the lions offense become a problem for opposing defenses?
Charles Davis, NFL Network
Lewis, Javid Best is another building block for the Lions. Still need to work on the OL, but you have to like how the building has been done the last 2 drafts...Stafford, Pettigrew, Best, Suh, Delmas.... -
Matt, Ct
1:45 PM ET
The Eagles will make the playoffs if..?
Charles Davis, NFL Network
Matt, If Kevin Kolb plays like a veteran all year, and not a first year, full time starter, and the defense solidifys in the back end. Tough division though as you already know. I like them better than a lot of people who believe they are going to take a big step back. I don't think so. -
Jason, MN
1:47 PM ET
Do you Facebook or Tweet? Dude's gotta keep up on their Chuck Davis. NFLTA is that much better when you're on it, me boy. Big fan. Peace!
Charles Davis, NFL Network
Jason, No Facebook for me, but I do Tweet on occasion. Truth be told, I need to step it up in that area. Thanks for the kind words! -
Charles Davis, NFL Network
As always, thanks for your interest in the NFL and NFL Network...we appreciate YOU!! Gotta roll to a meeting, enjoy the summer...camps open SOON!! CD
